Andy and the Blue Pillow of Luv
Day 114 of 365
Originally uploaded by RanaW
Dr. Susan came by during her lunch hour today with a bunch of magazines for R. and a nifty blue pillow that has iPod speakers built in. None of us knew, however, that this was actually the Blue Pillow of Luv for which Andy has been waiting all his [...]

Annual Fall Zoo Visit
Our annual fall visit to the zoo yesterday was a big success. The day was beyond gorgeous. Flawless skies and a temperature of 74 degrees. The big draw, however, was the fact that the lioness has four young cubs and no self-respecting crazy cat lady can stay away from that much feline cuteness in one [...]

A Little Branson Daydreaming
I think we all know that from time to time I get a chance to review products and/or offerings. I have to confess, I wish this one had come with actual testing, on site, in Branson.
I’m not much of one to long to get away on vacation, but at certain times of the year, generally [...]

Retreat: The Better Part of Valor
Of all the caregiving issues I ever expected to have to deal with, monitoring TV time wasn’t one of them. Of course, I didn’t count on the economy going to hell in a hand basket either, with the net result being that the more R. watches the news, the more she’s convinced evil men from [...]

Finally! Midnight’s Boudoir
It seemed like such an easy request when Marilyn asked me to take a picture of Midnight in her self-made bed on the back porch.
Not. So. Much.
Finally I was able to catch her sleeping in late and took this through the patio door. Obviously she’s in a little circular kitty bed, but over [...]

Kamikaze Squirrels and Ballot Madness
The kamikaze squirrel was a clue. Craziness was about to ensue.
You see, I was pedaling along one of my favorite trails by the river yesterday when this thrill-seeking Ninja rodent with a headband emblazoned with the rising sun (not really, but it would have fit), comes rocketing out of the brush on my left. I’ve [...]

Talk to the Paw
A few days ago in a comment, Marilyn asked me to get a photo of Midnight all snuggled down in the nest she’s made in one of the patio chairs. That seemed like an easy enough request at the time and I started making sure I had my BlackBerry or pocket camera with me at [...]

Padded Boomerang Pain Relieving Genius
It’s been called a padded boomerang and Dr. Susan asked if my butt would be “bumbling around” off the back, but after my inaugural ride on the MoonSaddle bike seat, I can truthfully say that funny looking or not, this thing is a stroke of genius.
Granted, long bouts in the saddle are more uncomfortable and [...]

Monday, Monday — Literally, Two of the Suckers
Basically I had two Mondays in a row this week. On the actual day, I had a long talk with our broker/financial adviser. With the way the economy and consumer confidence is running right now, I might as well have said, “I put on the black hood and stepped up to the executioner.” Fortunately, it [...]
