Good Luck
Tonight our abbreviated Movie Group – the two of us, Missy J. and the Wookie – watched “Goodnight and Good Luck.” I could not help but be struck by Edward R. Murrow’s erudition and by the fact that if a broadcaster spoke to the American people like that today, most folks wouldn’t understand him.

Yesterday I was in the grocery store waiting while a woman examined the last two packages of medium roast coffee pods. She put both in her cart and then saw me, “I’m sorry,” she said, “did you want one of these?”
