End of the Year Meme
I’d give credit for this, but I honestly don’t remember where I picked it up.
1. What did you do in 2005 that you’d never done before? Got a tattoo.
2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I made a resolution to read more books in 2005 and [...]

Condolences
Please join with me in offering condolences to Missy J. and T’Lana (and their family) in the death of their father last evening.
High Flight
by John Gillespie Magee
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

Limbo Land
It must be the tepid, unseasonable weather. Not only am I having trouble keeping my eyes open, my synapses are misfiring right and left. The germ of an idea starts somewhere behind my left ear but the impulse goes screaming off into oblivion before I can make it a full blown thought. Even a late [...]

Holiday: Overheard 8
Yesterday at the bank drive-through the fellow in the beat up Mustang to my left was blasting the soundtrack from “Walk the Line” and indulging his vocal Johnny Cash/Joaquin Phoenix fantasies. I could have done it yesterday, but we enjoyed a lovely, quiet Christmas Sunday and I gave myself over to [...]

Sunday Synopsis, Xmas Edition
May you spend today with people you love doing things that bring you warmth and joy. We allow this season to become too complicated and too commercial. An “observance” should involve “observing.” Look around today and find your smile. Although we may never meet you in person, your presence here makes you a part of [...]

Christmas Eve
For many years on Christmas Eve we attended a neighborhood gathering. As good Episcopalians, our hosts always ushered we Methodists out before they took off for midnight service. We’d go home and open gifts and I fell into the habit of watching the televised mass from the Vatican. All in all, it made for an [...]

Busy Day
It’s been a full day and a couple of friends will be dropping by shortly, but I did manage to get a few of our holiday season photos (to date anyway) loaded into a gallery. Click here.

Wookie Gets Dog Piled
Click thumb for larger image.
The Wookie-In-Law has a new Corgie puppy, Einstein. I finally got to meet the little guy this afternoon and was witness to the Wookie getting dog-piled by Ein and Tag who was obviously reminding Dad who the Top Dog is around the old homestead.
